Description

We are working as partners in conjunction with Gettysburg Relics to offer some very nice American Civil War relics for sale.
GETTYSBURG - CEMETERY RIDGE - SEDGWICK MONUMENT (and New Jersey Monuments) to SLOPE OF LITTLE ROUND TOP - ROSENSTEEL FAMILY - A small shell fragment from a CS Confederate Read Artillery Shell measures about 1 7/8" by 1 1/2" by 7/8" wide and weighs about 3.3 ounces.
This one is from a scarce site from the Rosensteel collection which came to us in very small numbers.
This Relic condition small shell fragment from a CS Confederate Read Artillery Shell measures about 1 7/8" by 1 1/2" by 7/8" wide and weighs about 3.3 ounces, was found in the woods on Cemetery Ridge that run from the Sedgwick Monument and NJ Monuments up the northern slope of Little Round Top. There are very few relics from this location left in our inventory. This artifact was a part of the collection of Iva Rosensteel, sister of George Rosensteel (founder of the Gettysburg National Museum and the famous Electric Map) so the provenance could not be better. This is the first time that this artifact is being offered for public sale and I feel very privileged in the opportunity to offer it. The Rosensteels were, of course, the most famous artifact collecting family in Gettysburg and the bulk of the relics on display at today's Gettysburg National Park Visitor Center come from the Rosensteels.
A provenance letter will be provided with this relic.
Thank you for viewing!
