Hello, up for your consideration today is this interesting set of rings. This item is old and well warn from heavy use. They are made for a man and come in a large size I estimate is maybe a 12 or 13? There is wear on the coin and the inside of the band.
The story goes that a man was captured by his enemies and left in the desert of Pakistan with nothing but 3 days of water and a coin that one of the other men had dropped. He ended up getting lost and finding the ruins of an abandoned house. The house was filled with sand and covered in graffiti warning about a Djinn. He had heard an old story of throwing a key to bind an evil spirit and instead thought of throwing the coin to entice it. As he threw the coin he asked the Djinn to come forward to greet him, as the coin hit the sand the wind picked up and it became too dangerous to travel.
The man stayed in the ruins for three days at the mercy of an unrelenting storm. By the third day he had exhausted his small water supply. He laid down in the sand and placed his hand over the coin where it fell and said something to the effect of how he will most likely die without a friend to save him and wished somehow he could take the coin and spend it on some water. He closed his eyes in preparation to die. He then heard a voice explain that the coin had landed on the spirit and trapped them, to please lift the coin from the ground and that both of them should be free. As the man lifted the coin it began to rain. It rained so much that he had a mostly cool and comfortable trip back to civilization.
Just a few miles before reaching safety he found one small area of the desert where it did not rain. he found the bodies of the men who abandoned him standing upright waist deep in the sand, their skin was as dry as leather and their mouths were open like like they had died screaming. their eyes had been eaten by birds and most eerily of all as the wind blew in their hallowed out faces it created a whistling sound like they were still screaming.
When he reached the village he had a band made and turned the coin into a ring. The coin became the object that represented the bond between the man and the Djinn. The Djinn adopted the coin as its vessel and helped the man to become wealthy. As the man grew richer he had the coin removed from the old band and placed onto a new sturdier band which fit better. He found an identical coin and had it fastened to the old band for sentimental reasons and so that it did not become scrap metal or lose its importance.
The person who owned these rings experienced a true rags to riches story. Over time as the owner became wealthy he had the primary vessel remade of better/stronger materials. The original haunted/blessed coin now sits atop the sturdy solid band, while the original warn band has been replaced with an identical coin.
